The Passing of Grand Master Myun Kwan Sik
It is with great sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Grand Master Kwan Sik Myung , 10th Dan and founder of the WHF. He died Sunday 7/19/09 amongst his family and relatives. He will be greatly missed. GM Myung was a pioneer of our art and the first person to codify and publish a comprehensive Hapkido book in both Korean and English.

New School is now open!!
After about two months of hard work our new Dojang is now open. Don't worry we only moved downstairs in the same plaza.No more steps! Our new location is more spacious and features Olympic style Judo mats...making breakfalls and throws much easier for reality training. We also build a larger changing area and a great pro-shop.A special thanks to our dedicated students and friends for helping make this happen.

St. Veronica's Fair 2009
For the fifth straight year Master McCann and the Self Defense Academy Demo team was invited to perform at the St.Veronica's fair in Howell NJ. This years demo featured our SDA kids youth Hapkido program as well as some high lights from our adult Hapkido classes. Master McCann finished up the demo demonstrating powerful Hapkido techniques both empty handed and with the use of the cane. We would like to thank St. Veronica for inviting us back every year!!
